Lakers Defender Ron Artest Rubbishes Reports that he Wants to Trade

Reports on Espn.com said that the temperamental Lakers defender Ron Artest was hoping to trade before the 24 Feb deadline. These reports claimed that Ron Artest was open to idea of leaving Lakers and playing for a rival team.

Ron Artest strongly denied these claims while talking to the Los Angles Times. He said that he felt good playing with the Lakers and was working hard to win the championship. Further, the chances of Lakers trading Ron are not high, even if he is open to it, as he has not been successful this season and his trade value is low.

The rumors had started last Monday when Lakers General Manager Mitch Kupchak publicly expressed his disapproval with the way his team was playing. Ron's team members and Coach Jackson backed him, stressing on the fact that Ron took pride in playing for the Lakers.
